The Vicar’s Gin Bar returns for 2026 courtesy of Urmston’s Prairie Schooner Taphouse.
Savour six distinctive gins, each with its own unique flavour profile, all distilled in our vicinity – and for the first time, including a gin distilled exclusively for the festival.
Follow our recommendations for a garnish, or be creative with your own combinations.
You’ll find the bar in the marquee at the back of the car park.
FESTIVAL GIN – Stubborn Mule & St Clements: Old Clem’s Temptation
A collaboration between the Rector of St Clement’s and Stubborn Mule Distilling & Rectifying, a recent venture of our friends in Timperley. Made with blackberries from the Rectory garden, apples and infused with coriander, sage, thyme, rosemary, orange & lime peel and almond.
Garnish with orange and lemon – “go the bells of St Clements.”

You’ll also be able to order bottles of Old Clem’s Temptation to drink at home – whether to drink yourself or to give as presents. With just 20 bottles available, this is a truly exclusive gin.
DRY – Emerald Gin
Juniper provides a powerful punch, but you’ll be delighted at the smoothness of this premium spirit distilled at the Garden Shed Distillery in Heald Green.
Garnish with herbs and citrus.
SPICED – Three Wrens: Pepper Street
A traditional juniper-led gin enlivened by peppercorns, herbs and garden flowers. Distilled at The Nest in Nantwich, a cocktail bar and gift shop, with sales proceeds benefiting St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice.
Serve with herbs and citrus.
FLORAL – Capesthorne: Rhubarb & Lavender
Delicate, perfumed herbs meet tangy rhubarb in this moreish gin. Housed in a converted barn on the Capesthorne Hall estate, the Cheshire Distillery welcomes visitors to tour the distillery and to meet their copper still, Penelope.
Garnish with herbs and berries.
FRUITY – Cuckoo: Sunshine Gin
Abundant raspberries with a drop of honey and vanilla. Each weekend visitors are welcome to their Distillery Bar & Food Yard at Holmes Farm outside of Chorley.
Garnish with berries and citrus.
CITRUS – Salford Gin
Bright, zesty and crisp thanks to citrus peel and lemon balm. After earning a following for rums with a Northern edge, the lads at Salford Distillery invite you to join them for gin-making experiences.
Garnish with berries and citrus.
Prosecco and wine are also available on this bar
