As well as great beer, great cider and top food choices, Chorlton Beer & Cider Festival seeks to add some top entertainment for our Friday & Saturday visitors (Thursday is quiet day for those for whom beer is all the entertainment they need).
After going down a storm at the 13th Festival, we are pleased to welcome back The Hootles.
The Hootles are Matt Wolff (vocals & harmonica) and Jonny Lexus (guitar & vocals).
Matt and John are two of the most sought after musicians in the UK. As performers they have appeared everywhere from The Marquee to The Royal Albert Hall. They have worked with Elbow, Stephen Fretwell and many others. Immediately prior to appearing at Chorlton Beer Festival, Jonny will be backing the Beautiful South’s Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott at the Sounds Of The City festival at Castlefield Bowl
As The Hootles they use acoustic guitar, harmonica and superb vocal harmonies to breathe new life into golden oldies, modern anthems, childhood favourites, guilty pleasures and forgotten classics! They play songs by XTC, Elvis Costello, Squeeze, Talking Heads, The Who, The Rolling Stones, ELO, The Jam and many more.
They’ll be playing different sets on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Saturday 8th July (afternoon) – Live Jazz
On Saturday afternoon, our resident jazz band will return with gentle background music to while away the afternoon.
