Meet The Brewers – Thursday

For our Thursday session, you will have a good chance of enjoying a beer in the company of the brewer who made it.

A chance discussion with the team from Kent’s Pig & Porter brewery ended up with them agreeing to time their next collaboration brew trip to Manchester to co-incide with the festival. With one of the country’s most exciting new breweries travelling all that way, we thought why not invite lots more of our favourite brewers down for the evening. We are thrilled that so many of the brewers thought it was a good idea too.

Representatives from these breweries are expected with many more invited and likely to attend:

It’s going to be a pretty free form evening with brewers popping down when they’ve finished their day. Some brewers will have samples of beers not awailable at the festival for you to try and samples of ingredients to compare. Others will just be be around to answer your questions and just have a general chat.

They have all promised to do their best to stay awake after a days brewing and should be on their best behaviour (unless you feed them beer in which case who knows what could happen).

Thursday Preview Evening

The festival will open on Thursday 2nd July with a special limited numbers preview evening.

While the crowds who descend on the festival on Friday & Saturday create part of the buzz which makes the festival special, with number of tickets available limited, this extra session will be an altogether more relaxed affair. There should be little in the way of queuing at the bar giving more time to appreciate the beers on offer.

There will also be the opportunity to meet some of the brewers behind the beers who will gather in Brewers Corner.

Both the cask beer bars will be open with as near a full range of cask beers as possible (although we’d never sell anything that wasn’t ready for sale) and ourcider team will be hand picking some of the very best ciders and perries from the festival range to be available on the Thursday night and there will be a good selection from our bottle world beer range.

Entrance will be be priced at £10 and will include entrance, a free glass, a copy of the festival programme and your first £5 of beer tokens (so you don’t waste any time getting to the beer sampling)

Chorlton Beer & Cider Festival 2015

chorlton beer fest logo 2015 300dpiThe 11th Chorlton Beer & Cider Festival will return to the church and grounds of St Clement’s on Edge Lane from Thursday 2nd to Saturday 4th July 2015.

Brought to you by St Clement’s Church and Trafford & Hulme CAMRA in association with Outstanding Beers, the festival is set to once again bring the best beers, ciders & perries to the picturesque setting of the church grounds.

There will be over 90 real ales on offer split across two bars. One bar will celebrate the unprecedented growth in local breweries over the last 12 months by featuring exclusively beers from the new breed of Greater Manchester breweries such as Blackjack, Brightside, Wilson Potter and many more.

Of course great beer doesn’t just come from this fair city so the second bar will feature the best from our near neighbours in Cheshire, Cumbria, Merseyside, Yorkshire and beyond. The festival will be hosting the Golden Ales round of CAMRA’s Champion Beer Of Britain competition for the North West region – a perfect fit for summer.

Equally summery will be the range of over 50 ciders and perries on the outdoor cider bar.

The new World Beers bar will feature bottled beers from the four corners of the world from Europe to the Americas and onwards to the best from the beer revolution taking grip of the the southern hemisphere.

There will be an range of street food on offer in the grounds and live music on Friday and Saturday evening. The Thursday evening will again be a quieter preview evening with limited entry – tickets will go on sale soon.
